Mahnung KZ Stutthof - Reminder KZ Stutthof

            Das KZ Stutthof war ein deutsches Konzentrationslager, 37 Kilometer östlich von Danzig bei Stutthof im Landkreis Danziger Niederung auf dem Gebiet der annektierten Freien Stadt Danzig. Das Lager bestand nach vorbereitenden Arbeiten im Juli und August vom 2. September 1939 bis zum 9. Mai 1945. Es war nach dem deutschen Angriff auf die Freie Stadt Danzig und dem Überfall auf Polen zunächst ein Zivilgefangenenlager. Am 1. Oktober 1941 wurde der Status des Lagers geändert, als Sonderlager Stutthof unterstand es fortan der Danziger Gestapo. Am 29. Januar 1942 erhielt Stutthof als Konzentrationslager der Stufe I den Status, den es bis Kriegsende behalten sollte.

Stutthof concentration camp was a German concentration camp located 37 kilometres east of Gdansk near Stutthof in the district of Danziger Niederung on the territory of the annexed Free City of Gdansk. After preparatory work in July and August, the camp existed from 2 September 1939 to 9 May 1945. It was initially a civilian prison camp after the German attack on the Free City of Danzig and the invasion of Poland. On 1 October 1941, the status of the camp was changed; as a special camp Stutthof it was henceforth under the control of the Danzig Gestapo. On 29 January 1942, Stutthof was given the status of a level I concentration camp, which it would retain until the end of the war.
