Mcalpine Locks at Louisville, Kentucky

            Located on the Ohio River at the historic Portland Neighborhood.
The island to the right separates the locks from the dams and the Falls of the Ohio.  The viewing platform,  center, puts a visitor at eye level with the bridge on many towboats.  The island is a major staging area for the Army Corp of Engineers.
