SNCF FRET 186 186-3 @ Braine-le-Comte 🇧🇪

SNCF FRET is "back in business" met de de ballasttrein van Somain naar Quenast, weliswaar dan wel in een versie 2.0!

Het is vanaf nu dus echt wel 'over en uit' met de iconische diesels van de reeks BB 67400... in de plaats verzorgt nu één enkele TRAXX 186 van SNCF FRET de dienst tussen Somain en Clabecq vv.

Tussen Clabecq en Quenast pendelt er dan één 77 van LINΞΛS met de lege stam. Voor de beladen stam vanuit Quenast moet die ene 77 zelfs twee keer op en af omwille van het hoge gewicht van de trein.

Als de trein dus rijdt (gemiddeld 2 à 3 keer per week) is er dus best wel wat verkeer op het lijntje tussen Clabecq en Quenast... alleen moeten we het dus wel doen met een Belgische 77 in dienst van SNCF FRET.

En ook de stam heeft een ander uitzicht dan de voorgaande jaren: het zijn geen open bakwagons meer maar gewoon terug stortwagons van ERMEWA.

Redenen genoeg dus om de trein deze morgen toch nog eens op foto te zetten tussen de velden van Braine-le-Comte en Hennuyères.

Taken this picture, I wondered if this was the last season for the rail veterans class BB 67400 between Somain and Quenast? Today, I can say 'yes' to this question. SNCF FRET is back in business with these freight trains but nowadays, it's with a TRAXX in front of the train!

February 15, 2023, I chose this place in Braine-le-Comte to take a picture of the uncharged freight train from Somain to Clabecq (and finally Quenast).
