SNCF FRET 186 192-1 @ Clabecq 🇧🇪

            In theorie loopt de ballastcampagne van SNCF FRET naar Quenast over een tweetal weken ten einde (de theoretisch laatst voorziene rijdag is op donderdag 6 april). Maar door de grote stakingsgolf in Frankrijk kan je je eigenlijk wel beginnen afvragen of de campagne al niet ten einde is: de laatste weken sneuvelden de meeste ritten één na één (heel sporadisch kwam er wel nog eens een trein naar Quenast).
Benieuwd of ze die afgeschafte ritten later nog gaan inhalen of dat ze gewoon zullen wachten op een volgende campagne?!

Op donderdag 23 februari was de campagne aan zijn vijfde dag toe en was er van staking nog geen sprake! Ik trok er dus ook nog eens op uit om deze ballasttrein op een plekje te fotograferen waar de vorige campagnes (met diesels BB67400 aan kop) niet kwamen en vond via GoogleMaps dit plekje op lijntje 106.

Het korte lijntje 106 verbindt Clabecq-Marchandises met Lembeek (oorspronkelijk verbond L106 Lembeek met Ecaussinnes-Carrières) en is een lijntje waar je sowieso maar heel weinig foto’s van ziet! Maar toch vond ik op donderdag 23 februari dit plekje (met dank aan - heel toepasselijk - het bergje achtergelaten ballast) langs dit korte enkelsporige lijntje (amper 2,70 kilometer lang en Vmax 40 km/u).
Trein 60100 Clabecq-Marchandises - Schaarbeek-Groep R heeft op het moment van de foto een goede 1,5 kilometer op het lijntje achter de rug en zal over een dikke kilometer op grondgebied Lembeek de wissel naar L96 nemen om daar dan aan het lusje rond Brussel te beginnen via L96, L28 en L26. Twee uur later zal deze trein dan (in vogelvlucht) op nog geen 200m van deze plek op L96 eindelijk richting Frankrijk kunnen sporen.

Here you can see SNCF FRET 186 192-1 in front of a full loaded freight train from the quarry in Quenast. Before the train can leave to France, it has to do a detour via Clabecq, Halle, Brussels and Schaarbeek. From Schaarbeek, the train drives again to Halle and finally Tubize and further on to Mons and the Belgian-French border in Quévy. This detour takes +/- 2 hours but fot the photpgrapher, it creates new opportunities to take a picture of this train, as you can see. I took this pictureat the very start of the detour in Clabecq (Belgian railway line 106 from Clabecq to Lembeek).
