Railion 225 029-8 + 225 024-9 @ Zichem 🇧🇪

In 2008 reden er op de Montzenroute een paar keer per dag nog DB-locs van de serie 225 (toen wel onder de naam Railion) door tot in de haven van Antwerpen. En zo konden mijn broer Steven en ikzelf dit koppeltje 225'ers na een heerlijk dagje hobby'en in het allerlaatste licht in Zichem op de digitale chip vereeuwigen.

Nadat de Montzenroute tussen de Gemmenichertunnel en het station van Montzen vanaf eind 2008 elektrisch kon worden bereden, verdwenen de rode DB-diesellocomotieven voorgoed van het Infrabel-netwerk en moesten we het zelfs een tijdje zonder DB-rood stellen in België totdat DB in open access goederentreinen zou beginnen rijden: sindsdien zijn de rode Traxxen, 6500'en en Vectrons wel dagelijks te zien in ons Belgenlandje.
