Rail4Chem PB01 @ Molenstede 🇧🇪

Wie mijn stream de laatste weken wat volgt, zou misschien de bedenking kunnen maken dat ik bijna de huisfotograaf ben geworden van de nieuwe ouigo tussen Brussel en Parijs 😂

Niets is minder waar natuurlijk al moet ik wel eerlijk bekennen dat ik sinds de komst van deze trein op 19 december 2024 al 14 foto's in mijn fotocollectie heb (op 14 verschillende locaties!). Niet te verwonderen natuurlijk want die ouigo rijdt voorbij mijn thuisstad en brengt na lange tijd nog eens wat extra kleur op het spoor! Om maar te zeggen: meer foto's van deze trein zullen dus zeker en vast nog komen!

Maar goed, de laatste twee keer dat ik op de ouigo gejaagd heb, miste ik telkens op een haar na een cargo! Jammer maar niets aan te doen maar dat moet dus beter en dus dacht ik: ik duik even mijn archief in en zoek een cargo-plaatje van eind januari/begin februari.

En zo stootte ik op deze stoere diesel van (het toenmalige) Rail4Chem die me (ons, want ook broer Steven was die dag van de partij) op dinsdag 20 januari 2009 (alweer meer dan 16 jaar geleden dus) in Molenstede kruiste met een trein van Antwerpen-Rhodesië naar het Zwitserse Rotkreuz.

Already 16 years ago, this Class 66 of the then Rail4Chem passed my camera in Molenstede with a freight train from the port of Antwerp to Rotkreuz, Switzerland.
