Going to a Good Home - a photo on Flickriver

            After a period of uncertainty following the completion of their contract with GBRf on Caledonian Sleeper duties, the future of Class 87 No. 87002 'Royal Sovereign' and Class 86/1 No. 86101 'Sir William A. Stanier FRS' has been assured following their purchase by Crewe-based Locomotive Services Limited from the AC Locomotive Group. On 11th November 2019 the pair moved to their new home at Crewe and are seen crossing the Coventry Canal at Huddlesford on the approach to Lichfield. 'Royal Soveriegn' provides the power for the move, 0Z37 1318 Wembley inter City Depot - Crewe HS. The fate of the third ACLG AC Electric hired for Caledonian Sleeper work, Class 86/4 No. 86401 'Mons Meg' remains to be confirmed. Copyright Photograph John Whitehouse - all rights reserved
