Saint Louis Canyon Revisited - a photo on Flickriver

            Hiked around Starved Rock with Tim and Lily yesterday. French Canyon was blah. Wildcat Canyon was blah. I'm sorry - it's spring - isn't there supposed to be water in this park? You go a few days without rain...

After a quick lunch at Duffy's in Utica (which is becoming the Peoria Flickr group's lunch spot for any excursion to SR/Matthiessen), Tim and I went back to check out Kickapoo, Sac, and Aurora Canyons. The trail takes you above all three and as best I can tell there isn't obvious entry from below - which kinda sucks because Aurora and Sac look pretty interesting in the water department (Kickapoo is dry).

As an afterthought almost, since we parked in the St. Louis Canyon parking lot - we made the five-minute walk out to the falls and... tah-duh...

Gotta go back up there after it rains. Oh - and most everything tree-wise still looks wintery - we need another 2-3 weeks and the trees will be green.
