Day 365 - a photo on Flickriver

Day 365

            It's here! The end of this project. I included Grace again because she is my soul-dog and she is still here. When I started this project I didn't know if she would make it through, and truthfully I don't know what the future holds for her. We took her to the vet 3 years ago today and learned that she had an enlarged heart and fluid building up in her lungs. The vet in our town didn't want to diagnose her on just an x-ray, but referred us to see a specialist who could do an echo-cardiogram. That vet said Grace would have a year left. Grace's breeder wasn't happy with that diagnosis and asked us to bring Grace up to be seen by the whippet heart specialist in Wisconsin. That specialist confirmed dilated cardiomyopathy, but said she may have 2-2 1/2 years. Grace has been living past that since June. Every day is a blessing.

Tomorrow I turn 30! I started my first 365 project on my 20th birthday. My 20s weren't wild, but I'm happy to have documented 4 of those years. So much has changed in just the last year (moving, leaving my old job, getting a new job), but it is crazy to look back at any of my past 365 projects. Life goes by so quickly.
