Field_Kit_Зоркий-3M_Q12G - a photo on Flickriver

            With all the various cameras at my disposal there are just a few of the 35mm tools that keep coming to hand. This Зоркий-3M is one of them. Around town it wears a Jupiter 12 wide angle lens for shots on the street.

When it comes to walking in the woods the Jupiter 8 and the Steinheil, (Mubchen,) 135mm, f4.5, Culminar are about all that is necessary. Both lenses are famous. The Jupiter for it's exceptional good qualities at a low cost. The German lens was comparatively inexpensive when built and is downright cheap now - deservedly so! It's sharp enough and contrasty enough - but not a sterling performer in either category. This one is in great shape and looks way better than it performs. It does have a gold-embossed leather cap with a plush felt lining, though [[;-)

The camera just works - end of story. The combined viewfinder/rangefinder window is big, bright, contrasty, and clear. All the shutter speeds are on one dial. The case is battered and worn and thick, and supple. There is a satisfying "snick" to the shutter.
