Causeway to Yenshuiting Pavilion in Gantanghu lake in Jiujiang

            九江市内甘棠湖
Gantanghu is a lake located near the city centre of Jiujiang (九江). Causeway to Yenshuiting (烟水亭) pavilion is in the front and Li Bo Embankment (李勃堤) in the distance.

Li Bo, who ordered the construction of the embankment, was a bureaucrat and poet dispatched to Jiujiang during the Tang period in 8th century. The embankment was intended to provide a short cut route to the opposite side of the lake for those living in Jiujiang. He also ordered to construct Bailudong academy that contributed greatly to elaborate on Confucian studies that later influenced Samurais in Japan.
