Zenkouji Valley (Takayashiro-yama) - a photo on Flickriver

            Another shot of snow-covered Zenkouji Valley. This photo was taken in Nagano city (長野市) toward Nakano city (中野市) to the northeast.

The mountain in the upper centre is Takayashiro-yama (高社山), a volcano of 1,352m. It is also called Takai Fuji (高井冨士) due to its similarity in shape to Mt. Fuji. There are many Fuji mountains all over Japan. Another example is Hachijou Fuji in Hachijou-jima island.

Mountains in the right are also of volcanic origin, and Shiga Kougen ski gelände is located on the slopes behind these mountains.
