New grid, new film

            The Portland Grid Project continues to roll on for me.  This month took me to some familiar territory with Grid J8.  This grid runs from Overlook Park to MLK and NE Graham up to NE Sumner.  It includes a lot of area I have spent a lot of time walking and photographing.  My favorite is down under the morass that is the merging of I-5 and I-405.  The complexity of the architecture to bring those two Interstates together, along with all the on and off ramps is impressive.  So it has been fun to revisit this area with the intent to document it for this project.

To further spice up the deal I have been shooting my first rolls of the new Kodak Gold 200 medium format film.  It is a bit too early for me to weigh in beyond first impressions.  But those first impressions are... it's fine.  Nothing too special, but totally fine.  I will certainly never complain about having more color medium format options, even if those options don't bring a ton of new flavor to the menu.  But I still need to try a few more rolls of this stuff before I am feeling familiar enough with it to really weigh in.
