Ypsigro street

            Castelbuono (Pa) is a small medieval village located in the Madonie Park.

Its center is graceful and well preserved and welcomes the visitor in its slow, pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.

In ancient times, the center of Castelbuono was indicated with the term of Byzantine origin Ypsigro which, according to historians, means "cool place" and the reason for this name is well understood if one thinks of the extraordinary climate and the naturalistic wonders of the Madonie.

Castelbuono (Pa) è un piccolo borgo medievale che sorge nel Parco delle Madonie.

Il suo centro è grazioso e ben conservato e accoglie il visitatore nelle sue atmosfere lente, piacevoli e rilassate. 

Anticamente, il centro di Castelbuono veniva indicato con il termine di origine bizantina Ypsigro che, secondo gli storici, significa “luogo fresco” e si comprende bene la ragione di questo appellativo se si pensa al clima straordinario e alle meraviglie naturalistiche delle Madonie.
