Tangent Arc, 22nd of September 2012 (a)

This is much the most spectacular tangent arc I've seen - shortly before sunset yesterday. Up until now I've only really seen them as local brightening of the 22° halo, with faint traces of wings reaching out above. This one, as you can see, was much brighter than the halo itself. Notice also that there is a fainter coloured patch above the main arc - a rare Parry arc. ~~off the top of my head, I'm not even sure what's going on there. Anyone?~~
