Tower and the two birds....HFF - a photo on Flickriver

De toren van de  Grote Kerk (Grutte Tsjerke) in de Friese plaats Hindeloopen, gebouwd in 1632 op de fundamenten van haar voorgangster.

De torenspits ging in 1701 na een blikseminslag verloren. In 1724 werd als bekroning van de toren de huidige spits op de toren geplaatst.

The tower of the Grote Kerk (Grutte Tsjerke) in the Frisian town of Hindeloopen, built in 1632 on the foundations of its predecessor.

The spire was lost in 1701 after a lightning strike. In 1724, the current spire was placed on top of the tower to crown the tower.
