Peak District Heather Burning - a photo on Flickriver

            "Controlled" burning of old heather on Shatton and Abney Moors in the Derbyshire Peak District. The smoke is obscuring the view of Mam Tor across the Hope Valley from White Edge. Heather is burnt on grouse moors to allow new growth for the benefit of the grouse..
