NYC Mt Carmel, Ill, 1951

            So much to look at in this 1951 view of the New York Centrals yard photo...in the foreground, we see NYC #2371 being turned on the turntable.  At right, we see NYC 4909 & 2072 in the roundhouse.  In the background we see an additional 6 NYC steam locomotives, a coal tower, a water tower, an ash pit and numerous buildings and shanty's.  Mount Carmel was a busy facility back in these days.  I don't know who took this photo, but I'm assuming it's taken from the roof of the roundhouse.

NYC Class H-10b 2-8-2 Mikado #2371 was built by Schenectady in 1924. (On turntable)

NYC Class K-5b 4-6-2 Pacific #4909 was built by Schenectady in 1926.  (In roundhouse)

I can't find any information on NYC #2072 as the roster is blank from #2069--#2080.
