Traligill, Northwest Highlands of Scotland

            The Traligill stream surges down a rocky valley in remote Sutherland, its waters stained brown by the tannin in the peat moorlands above. (It might seem odd that the most northerly region of mainland Scotland is called the southerly land, but of course, so it was to the Vikings who gave it the name.) It will be seen that I am no fan of slower shutter speeds for flowing water. I believe that the playful power of waterfalls and rapids is best expressed with fast speeds.
