Million Dollar Highway, U.S. Route 550, Colorado

As one can see from so many shots on my photo stream, the Million Dollar Highway in Autumn is a glorious experience. You will not run out of incredible views along the highway. Instead what you will be challenged by is a shortage of safe places to pull off the road to get the shot.

Not to mislead with the title of the photo: it was silver that drew early settlement and mining into the area and the building of the Million Dollar Highway. Silver, not gold, but those leaves turning glorious shades of yellow and orange simply demand attention.
