Sri Lanka Blue Magpie - a photo on Flickriver

            Endemic.Rare bird in our country.Captured at Sinharaja Rainforest,Sri Lanka.

The rich-brown head and wings.Blue body and red beak and legs are distinctive.                                                                               

Usually travels in pairs or small,vocal flocks.

The calls are loud and musical,some raucous.They include a rasping cree-cree,cree-cree,a ringing ching,ching and a plain whistling tlew-ee.

I hope I will have the opportunity to photograph this bird again.
