Honolulu - Aloha Tower Lighthouse - a photo on Flickriver

            The Aloha Tower Lighthouse was built in 1926.  At 10 stories and 184 feet tall, it was the tallest structure in Hawaii for four decades.

It was originally called 'Honolulu Light'.  However, because the tower had 'ALOHA'  spelled out in large letters near the top, it became Aloha Tower.

It served as a lighthouse for the Honolulu harbor until the late 1960's.

The photo was taken from our balcony on the Carnival Miracle as we were leaving the city.
