Holywell Bay Blue Hour - a photo on Flickriver

            I don't usually post more than one image from a single outing, but last Saturday's jaunt over to Holywell produced a post sunset glow that kept getting better and better as most of the remaining beach goers left the scene to us more fully clothed late arrivals bearing tripods and cameras.

This is my brother Dave with his tripod planted in the middle of the image, bringing a sense of scale to the scene before us.  The sun had just set behind these two rocks, known locally as The Chicks, and the sky went through a glorious range of pinks, purples and oranges before our eyes.  This location never disappoints at low tide, with surface water everywhere for interest.  Welly boots are a big advantage here as well, unless you want to take your shoes and socks off to get in among the perfect foreground.

As the sky eventually began to fade we repaired to a nearby pub for a pint of something refreshing.  All in all a rather good day.
