PKP Pt47-30 lijn555 - a photo on Flickriver

            Een rondreis met een Engelse groep spoorweg liefhebbers onder auspicien van World Steam, waaronder oa de Amerikaan Mike Eagleson die ik van vele stoom fotoboeken kende die hij samen met Ron Ziel had gemaakt zoals bijvoorbeeld het in 1975 uitgegeven "The twilight of world steam" Kopen als je het gebruikt aantreft, prachtige foto's van stoom locomotieven. 
Maar ik dwaal af. Op 31 augustus 1986 rolde de Poolse bus, onder begeleiding van een PKP persman, langs spoorlijnen in zuid Polen. Zagorz was in 1986 nog een actief stoom depot dat oa de grote Pt47 machines huisde. Hier passeert PKP Pt47-30 de fotografen op lijn 555 met een stam DDR productie dubbeldekkers. Polen was in die communistische jaren een vreemd land, veel mocht niet, stations fotograferen ten strengste verboden, tot onze grote frustratie natuurlijk. Tevens een van de redenen om met een georganiseerd gezelschap mee te gaan dat tenminste in depots mocht komen en daar plaatjes te kunnen maken. De openstaande deuren waren toen nog heel gewoon in Oost Europa maar Nederland had ook nog gewoon treindeuren die je zelf onder het rijden kon openen. Je werd geacht dat niet te doen en dat was voor de meeste mensen voldoende.

A tour with an English group organised by World Steam Railway freinds from many countries including an American named Mike Eagleson. I knew him from many steam photo books which he made with Ron Ziel such as in 1975 published "The twilight of world steam". Buy it if you can find it, great photos of steam locomotives.

On 31 August 1986 ride in a Polish bus, along PKP railway lines in South Poland. In 1986 Zagorz was still an active steam depot in 1986 and housed a series off Pt47 engines. PKP Pt47-30 passes the photographer on line 555 with a GDR production double decker cars. Poland was in those Communist years a country, with many things forbidden, station photography was strictly prohibited, to our great frustration of course. Also the reasons going along with an organized tour. At least depot visits with photo permits were in this trip. 
Open doors while running were then still quite common in Eastern Europe.
