Wild skies over the Shuswap - a photo on Flickriver

            Seems like every time I go to visit with my extended family in Salmon Arm I bring along some wild storms.  This summer's July visit was no exception.  A hot day and changing weather pattern produced strong winds that churned up the sunlit green waters of Shuswap Lake and created heavy layers of black storm clouds that raced across the sky.  Light conditions changed from moment to moment, as the sun disappeared and reappeared from breaks in the clouds.  The wind became so strong that I had to really brace myself to keep from being blown off my feet, but the drama in the sky kept me outside, savouring the excitement of another great summer storm.
