Stranger 274 of 300 - Kelly - a photo on Flickriver

My last full day in Singapore (this time, I definitely want to come back). So, I’ll end lie started, a coffee at Dutch Colony, and maybe a stranger for my project.

I was early, and the cafe was empty. They assured me that as the day unfolded they would become quite busy. So, I took my chance and asked the Barista ( I had seen her on a couple of occasions, but not spoken) if she would let me take her photo. She was, by now, very aware of me and my Stranger’s project, so was well prepared for me. Meet Kelly.
Kelly, is a born and bred Singaporean who’s mother tongue is Mandarin. I took a few photos and asked my usual question. Right then there was a swell of thirsty coffee partisans, so Kelly assured me she would return to answer the question.
Kelly’s biggest challenge is that she is very emotional. She feels that when she becomes overwhelmed, she will cry. Yet she accepts that being able to have this release is actually good and she doesn't fight it. She loves to cry at movies and loves romantic comedies. However there have been times when her emotions are too readily on show for others, ether supporters or deterers. She wanted to control this more.

If Kelly could change something, it would be to get better control of her emotions. Right now she let's people see too much into how she feels and how situations affect her.

We spoke Mandarin for a little and she was pleased I could speak her mother tongue.
