Ben More, another volcanic peak, seen across a low-tide, Loch Beg, Isle of Mull, Scotland.

            Commentary.

With no location on the Isle of Mull being much more than five miles from the sea, and Ben More, its loftiest peak, being
more or less central, it is seen from all angles.
Here, looking north, is the view from the Ross of Mull.
As with so many peaks on the outer fringes it is the stump of a much larger volcano.
This, almost symmetrical view, of a pyramidal peak
is as fine as any.
Loch Beg, at low tide, and the bright green ferns and irises,
set off the bluey-grey slopes of silica-rich basalt 
that makes up most of this area.
