Slopes of Ben Vorlich from Loch Lomond, Argyll, Scotland..

            Commentary.

There may be high and low roads to see Loch Lomond
but cruising or boating gives sumptuous views of the lush wooded shores and gracious peaks.
Here, the sun breaks through the clouds, near Tarbet,
and one of many cruise boats, beneath a sub-peak of Ben Vorlich, on the mid-western side, surveys the scene.
Inveruglas Hydro-Electric Power Station, on the right,
is fed by the waters of Loch Sloy, a dammed reservoir,
a thousand feet above, through mountain tunnels.

The jewel in the crown of this loch is the maze of
forest-decked islands that scatter across the five mile wide southern half.
Rightly world famous, its popularity is assured, being only twenty miles from Glasgow.
And yet, on many banks, the peace and beauty
convinces visitors that they are a thousand miles from the urban sprawl.
Here the Highlands begin, and what a start!!!
