Commentary.

Pulpit Hill, south of Oban, may lack elevation,
but still, the views afforded, are quite remarkable.
Here, looking north-west, Loch Linnhe meets the Firth of Lorn
and broadens to ten miles across.
Kerrera, at 5 square miles, in the middle ground,
lies a mere half a mile off-shore from Oban.
Five miles beyond Kerrera is the eel-shaped Lismore,
at 9 square miles, more or less splitting Loch Linnhe in half.
A further five miles on are the hills of Morvern.
At their western extremity (top left), is the Sound of Mull.
From this vantage point much time could be spent
watching the coming and going of ferries, yachts, schooners and fishing boats as they ply the magnificent waters of Scotland’s western seaboard.
