Possibly the most beautiful view I have ever seen. Tobermory, Loch Sunart, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, at dusk, 21:29, Isle of Mull, Scotland.

Poem.

Ethereal, mystical, other- worldly, fantastic.
The low patchwork of clouds rise from the warmer evening waters and shroud this western fringe in a grey veil of gentle, fading light.

Like scattered stars Tobermory’s street lights pierce the gloom of its south-facing hills.
The dying embers of a setting sun back-light the peaks of Ardnamurchan.

Everywhere, indigo-blue-grey hills delineate a timeless silhouetted beauty as a golden sky fades into the death-throes of night.

The wooded hills south of Mull’s capital march like soldiers down to the multi-coloured houses of Main Street much loved by children under its pseudonym of Balamory.
Colours now lost in the impending gloom.

Down to a bay bristling with legends of stricken Spanish galleons and sunken treasure, near an island blessed with serenity, where the wonder of wildlife dominates, to the delight of us, the human spectators.
