Milan Cathedral - Sculpture of St. - a photo on Flickriver

            In the transept of Milan Cathedral there is a sculpture of St. Bartholomew, made by the artist Marco d'Agrate. The apostle suffered a martyr's death because he was skinned alive and then his head was cut off. The sculpture precisely shows the structure of muscles. Saint Bartłomiej is depicted with a skin hanging over his shoulders and around his body, resembling a scarf, and holding a Bible in his left hand.

W transepcie mediolańskiej katedry stoi rzeźba św. Bartłomieja, wykonana przez artystę Marco d’Agrate. Apostoł poniósł śmierć męczeńską, został bowiem żywcem odarty ze skóry a potem odcięto mu głowę. Rzeźba precyzyjnie ukazuje budowę mięśni. Św. Bartłomiej przedstawiony został  z przewieszoną na ramionach i wokół ciała skórą, która przypomina chustę a w lewej dłoni trzyma Biblię.
