Avocette élégante (Recurvirostra avosetta)

            L'avocette élégante niche dans les zones plates et ouvertes, on la trouve typiquement dans les lacs salins peu profonds, dans les lagunes, les réservoirs et les plages ainsi que les estuaires qui possèdent une faible végétation.
En dehors de la saison de nidification, cet oiseau fréquente également les vasières dont la surface est battue par les marées. De temps en temps, on peut l'observer dans les lacs d'eau douce, le long du cours des rivières. Parfois, pendant la saison hivernale, elle semble apprécier les champs cultivés .

The Pied Avocet nests in flat, open areas, typically found in shallow saline lakes, lagoons, reservoirs and beaches as well as estuaries that have little vegetation.
Outside the nesting season, this bird also frequents the mudflats whose surface is beaten by the tides. From time to time, it can be observed in freshwater lakes, along the course of rivers. Sometimes, during the winter season, she seems to enjoy the cultivated fields.
