            Typisch für Burano sind die vielen kleinen in jeweils einer zu den Nachbarhäusern kontrastierenden kräftigen Farbe gestrichenen Fischerhäuser, die sich in den Kanälen spiegeln und die die Individualität der jeweiligen Hausbesitzer betonen. Die kuriose Farbenpracht zieht viele Maler und Fotografen auf die Insel.
