Le « Quatre étoiles » - a photo on Flickriver

            Antsirabe (Madagascar)  - Le « Quatre étoiles » est le nom de cette gargote. Une autre située à proximité est baptisée « A la bonne soupe ». Je trouve que les malgaches ne sont pas dénués d’humour, ni d’autodérision. C’est pour ça que je les trouve attachants. 
En 2016, date de la prise de vue, ce restaurant était installé dans un petit bidonville non loin du centre ville. Il y régnait une ambiance étonnamment joueuse malgré la précarité des habitants. A l’entrée de ce bidonville, les taxis de brousse faisaient une halte pour monter et descendre leurs passagers, d’où la présence de plusieurs restaurants de rue et de petits commerce (épiceries, coiffeurs etc.). Un lieu plein de vie. 
Quand j’y suis retourné la dernière fois en Octobre 2022, le bidonville avait été rasé pourlaisser place à un parking boueux pour les taxis de brousse. Seules les établissements implantés sur le pourtour du parking ont survécu.


Antsirabe (Madagascar) - The “Four Stars” is the name of this restaurant. Another one located nearby is called “A la bonne soupe”. I find that the Malagasy people are not devoid of humor or self-deprecation. That's why I find them endearing.
In 2016, when the photo was taken, this restaurant was located in a small slum not far from the city center. There was a surprisingly playful atmosphere there despite the precariousness of the inhabitants. At the entrance to this shantytown, bush taxis stopped to pick up and drop off their passengers, hence the presence of several street restaurants and small businesses (grocery stores, hairdressers, etc.). A place full of life.
When I returned there the last time in October 2022, the shanty town had been razed to make way for a muddy parking lot for bush taxis. Only the establishments located around the perimeter of the parking lot have survived.
