UP 1399 - GP40N - a photo on Flickriver

UP 1399 - GP40N

            Originally built as a GP40-2 for the Cotton Belt as SSW 7644 in 1979, the locomotive later received an SP reporting mark and speed lettering in the 90's (as SP 7644). It received a UP number (UP 1399) and yellow paint in the early 2000's and was later rebuilt by North Little Rock into a GP40N in February 2019.

Here, the 5 year-old paint from its rebuild still looks pretty good as UP 1399 rests at the former MKT Eureka Yard in Houston.
