Evening embers - a photo on Flickriver

Evening embers

            Very rare for me this photo, one mainly because it doesn't even have a whole tree in it in focus, and two I took this on an evening trip which is very very rare for me.
I am usually with my photography and early morning guy, I guess mainly due to the chance of fog. But for my last two attempts with summer morning photography (which is a huge challenge for me) I was not so successful although two images are still in the PP stage.
I have had a camera in my hand since 2019 and this was my second non morning trip. I had been watching the sunset from my living room about the last four days and was just awe inspired by the amazing ambient orange skyline. It set a light bulb of in my brain why not go out at sunset, so I did and vola.
A beautiful night sky just seeping through a small birch tree woodland nearby was providing some stunning colours and wonderful atmosphere.
The hardest part in fact from this trip was the midges as they were like viking raged animals trying to bite me to death, but the mossy spray came to good use, and I was clothed for autumn which also saved me.
The light was beautiful and the fallen branches just caught my eye for the composition. I did not need the whole tree as the light was doing the rest.
I had the telephoto lens on as the area is well known for Stag and roe deer so the depth of field just added to the feeling I was getting lining up the shot.
Thats about it for me now with summer trips, it was a challenge and even though I tried to like it, I can't. It's not for me, rain is forecasted for next week and this guy is getting very excited about it already.
