WAIT FOR IT

            Near a hippo pool on the Serengeti, I waited and waited for this shot.  And yet, times are not usually optimal when you aren't a professional photographer with the ability to be in a place for hours on end, year after year, with extremely costly gear and glass.  I only had a few moments to be in this spot, near my 50th birthday, probably once in a lifetime, in the mid-day harsh sun.  But would I change it...not for a second.  Privileged and happy for this moment.
