Phantom 604 In The Shunting-Yard - a photo on Flickriver

            This photograph focuses on the Diesel Shunter BR 604 Phantom preserved at the Didcot Railway Centre as the subject matter. The mise-en-scene of this shot includes some coaches behind locomotive, which can create the illusion that the locomotive is in shunting rolling stock in a yard during BR's era of diesel. This shot was created on the first steam day that the heritage site held on New Years Day, which was the first time I was able to view the locomotive in steam on the heritage railway. This photograph wasn't created for any specific reason such as an assignment or client, as the photographs from this day were taken to experiment with vantage points within my railway photography shots. This photograph was also post-produced within a traditional colour palette to experiment with the types of shades that I can include within the subject of railway photography other than B&W shades. This photograph is the first one within my online portfolio that focuses on a diesel locomotive instead of a steam or electric one.
