Every year in October there are many doll and bearmakers in Den Bosch (the Netherlands) to show their handmade dolls and bears. The fair is a public fair that is always very well attended. Most of the visitors come from the Netherlands and Belgium, but the fair also attracts visitors from all over the world, with people coming all the way from Japan, America and Australia among other places. The doll and teddy bear makers who take part in the fair come mainly from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and England.

Begin oktober 1912 stond in kranten dat de baldadige, maar populaire ijsbeer Vicks van Rotterdam Blijdorp samen met het jonge vrouwtje Sesi uit Ouwehands Dierenpark naar een berenpark in Zweden was verhuisd. Vicks en Sesi zijn beiden twee jaar oud en zijn daarmee oud genoeg om op eigen poten te staan, net zoals dat in de natuur ook gebeurt. De jonge ijsberen moeten voor jonkies gaan zorgen.
Deze berichten blijken echter niet te kloppen. Kranten hebben het wel vaker mis.
Tijdens de poppen- en berenbeurs, die onlangs werd gehouden in de Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, kwam ik namelijk Vicks en Sesi samen tegen. Vicks was gewoon op stap met zijn vriendin, een mensenmeisje.
Deze internationale poppen- en berenbeurs werd voorheen jaarlijks in oktober in Rotterdam Ahoy gehouden, maar is vanaf 2012 verplaatst naar de Brabanthallen in Den Bosch.
