Lake Manly Reflections, Death Valley

            This was the whole reason for my recent trip to Death Valley.  This lake only appears every 20 to 30 years and it was on my bucket list to capture.  Most of the day the conditions in the valley weren't very good for photography.  There were overcast conditions and wind most of the day, but in the evening the sky cleared up and the wind died down.

I posted another sunset picture from this location, but it didn't have any clouds or a nice reflection.  Another photograph came by and said that the conditions looking North were better for the sunset on the previous night.  I looked over to where he was pointing and saw this reflection.  I quickly moved my tripod and took a few pictures of this amazing view before I lost the light.

I left shortly after this picture and drove back to Lone Pine where I was staying for this trip.  The whole drive back I kept thinking how lucky I was today.  The visitor center said that the next day would have winds of 20 to 40 MPH and I never would've been able to get this picture.  What a great end of a day.
