Lago di Braies - Pragser Wildsee, mt.1.496 s.l.m (Acque color smeraldo - Emerald waters)

            Non è solo uno dei laghi più suggestivi in Alto Adige, ma anche uno dei laghi più profodi: la profondità massima è di 36 metri, la profondità media invece è di 17 metri. Anche la posizione del Lago di Braies, situato nell’ononima valle nella parte settentrionale del parco naturale Fanes-Sennes-Braies, è suggestiva. Il lago è immerso nello scenario montuoso delle Dolomiti di Braies che fanno da cornice al lago di colore verde smeraldo. La sua origine è dovuta allo sbarramento per una frana.

Il Lago di Braies è un lago legendario: tramite una barca era possibile raggiungere il regno sotterraneo del Fanes. La porta al regno era situata a sud del lago, dove si erge anche la maestosa montagna Croda del Becco (2.810 m), in Ladino chiamata appunto anche “Sass dla Porta”.

La “perla delle Dolomiti” è facilmente raggiungibile ed è una meta ideale per trascorrere una splendida giornata in uno scenario mozzafiato: godete una rilassante gita in barca oppure una passeggiata sul sentiero che circonda il lago. Inoltre il Lago di Braies è un punto di partenza ideale per diverse escursioni in montagna e da quì parte anche l’Altavia delle Dolomiti n° 1. Solo i più coraggiosi osano tuffarsi nelle acque fresche!
