Sacro Speco - Monastero di San Benedetto - Subiaco - ITALIA

            Ultima Cena: affresco dell'antico refettorio del monastero benedettino di San Benedetto. La particolarità  di quest'opera è che Gesù è seduto a capo tavola.
L'affresco è opera del così detto Maestro trecentesco che ha decorato la parete e che non ha lasciato traccia alcuna di se, ma i critici pensano che potesse essere un esponente della Scuola Senase o della Scuola Umbra, perche' lo stile della raffigurazione ricorda fortemente gli affreschi che troviamo in quelle zone.

Last Supper: fresco of the ancient refectory of the Benedictine monastery of St. Benedict. The peculiarity of this work is that Jesus is sitting at the head table.
The fresco is the work of the so-called fourteenth-century Master who decorated the wall and left no trace of himself, but critics think he could be an exponent of the Senase School or the Umbra School, because the style of the representation reminds strongly the frescoes we find in those areas.
