A Difference of Decades - a photo on Flickriver

            I haven't been out much with the camera recently, so I thought that I'd poke around the External Hard Drive to see what I could find what'd be of interest. 

Going back to May 21, 2012, I found myself in the suburban Kansas City community of Birmingham, MO at the junction of the Iowa Chicago & Eastern (ex-MILW/RI), BNSF Brookfield Sub (CB&Q), and NS (Wabash). Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have been presented with this westbound "Canadian Pacific" train in fantastic afternoon light! 

While today's CPKC has plenty of cool power on the roster, the 2012 CP absolutely looked like the pre-2008 IC&E, which was infinitely cooler. However, before I sound especially curmudgeonly, I grumbled about the IC&E because it WASN'T the IMRL of my youth, the same way that Gen Xers mourned the loss of the SOO, MILW, and Rock, and so on. 

It is what it is. Shoot it while you can.
