Babbling Duck, lol! - a photo on Flickriver

            Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) Drake/Male is telling me all about his relationship issues.  Well I assume this because he and the hen had been up on the deck eating (well Miss Hen ate while Mister Drake stood guard); then they flew into the pool together; then she apparently managed to flee without him... So he came back up to the deck as if he were looking for her. He sat (well I sat--I guess he stood) up on the deck with me for about 30 minutes, at times babbling away and at other times just waiting.
