New Brighton Pier.... - a photo on Flickriver

            .....Christchurch, NZ
The pier was officially opened on 1 November 1997 on the site of the original New Brighton Pier which was demolished more than 30 years previously. 
The new pier was designed to be a place where people could feel close to the ocean. Much of the pier's length is over the water even at low tide.
