Bluebirds At Home - a photo on Flickriver

Bluebirds At Home

            It's a pair of Eastern Bluebirds seen on a nesting box last Spring at a local conservation area. I am presuming that they had moved in, or perhaps were checking it out as a place to incubate their eggs and raise their little ones.

Interestingly, according to AllAboutBirds.org, "Eastern Bluebirds typically have more than one successful brood per year. Young produced in early nests usually leave their parents in summer, but young from later nests frequently stay with their parents over the winter."
