Iris (Frans Hals x lusitanicum) @ 21.04.2024

            My latest hybrid Iris to flower. I did this crossing with Iris Frans Hals, a hybrid that has been around for many years, as the seed parent with a wild native Portuguese species, Iris lusitanica, as the pollen parent back in 2018 or 2019 I think, and it flowered for the first time today. I think it is maybe my most beautiful hybrid... it has the shape of the pollen parent, very thin and elegant with long narrow petals but the colour is like neither but with a bit of both. Lovely.
