            While at Attenborough Nature Reserve I grabbed a few shots of this Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) strolling around in the  rain.

Pheasants are large, long-tailed game birds. The males have rich chestnut, golden-brown and black markings on their bodies and tails, with a dark green head and red face wattling. Females are mottled with paler brown and black.

Attenborough Nature Reserve.
A beautiful complex of flooded former gravel pits and islands providing exceptional habitat for a wide range of wildlife.
Attenborough Nature Reserve was established in 1966 and was opened by Sir David Attenborough. The reserve attracts around 500,000 visitors each year. The reserve works in partnership with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.
