GOOD MORNING VIETJAN - I AM IRON NAM - THE ROAD TO VIETNAM

Well, right-o, not initially in the company of Crosby, Hope or Lamour, but you get the idea! 

To quote another song, "Early one morning, just as the sun was rising...." (Picture taken in the back of the Skybus Shuttle on the way to Tullamarine Airport, Melbourne, Australia. I had to have a couple of goes at this as the bus was shaking a fair bit. Eventually I got it right when the bus stopped to pick someone up.)

This is the Tiny Tony figure that I generally use to interact with insects in my "Incredible Shrinking Iron Man" photoset.  In this case I took him to Vietnam (Birthplace of Iron Man! It's true, look it up!) in April, 2012, as one of the key action figures for the in-country pictures I took during the Intrepid/3RRR FM tour. Tiny Tony was originally embedded in a clear 'superball' toy. I dug him out, and did some repainting to sharpen up his features. Actually, he needs a bit of a repaint now, but he also seems to be covered in insect pheromones, which makes him quite fascinating to wee beasties. 

Like almost all of my Katmandu travel gear (and even the one item that broke still worked!) the little digital clock served me well on the trip, although I hardly ever needed the alarm setting as I tended to wake up very early anyway. That's pretty much my default settin, as I kind of like to greet the dawn; besides, there's all sorts of interesting things going on at that time of day. 

Upgrading to Lion OSX, back in the day,  killed my ancient version of Photoshop so now I'm using the shareware photo editing software, Gimp. It's actually a very powerful application, and free! :)
