Der Kirchturm im Reschensee - The bell tower in Reschensee

Der Reschensee (italienisch Lago di Resia) ist ein Stausee in der Gemeinde Graun im westlichen Südtirol, der dem Speicherkraftwerk Glurns als Oberbecken dient. In ihm gestaut wird das Wasser der Etsch, des Rojenbachs, des Karlinbachs und einiger kleinerer Zuflüsse.
Der künstliche See hat mit sechs Kilometer Länge und an der breitesten Stelle etwa einem Kilometer Breite ein Stauvolumen von 120 Mio. m³.
Den prägnantesten Blickpunkt am Reschensee und Wahrzeichen des Gebiets stellt der aus Gründen des Denkmalschutzes nicht gesprengte Kirchturm dar. Dieser ragt auch bei hohem Wasserstand aus dem Wasser des Sees, bei niedrigem Wasserstand symbolisiert ein eingefasstes Wasserbecken um den Turm dessen Schicksal. Es handelt sich um den Glockenturm der ehemaligen Pfarrkirche St. Katharina, der bereits im Jahr 1357 eingeweiht worden war. 2004 wurde der Turm unter Denkmalschutz gestellt.

The Reschensee (Italian Lago di Resia) is a reservoir in the municipality of Graun in western South Tyrol, which serves the storage power plant Glurns as the upper basin. The water of the Adige, the Rojenbach, the Karlinbach and some smaller tributaries are dammed in it.
The artificial lake has a reservoir volume of 120 million m³ with a length of six kilometers and a width of about one kilometer at the widest point.
The most prominent viewpoint on the Reschensee and the landmark of the area is the church tower, which was not demolished for reasons of historic preservation. It towers out of the lake even when the water level is high. At low water levels, a water basin around the tower symbolizes its fate. It is the belfry of the former parish church of St. Katharina, which had already been consecrated in 1357. In 2004 the tower was listed as a historical monument.
